Support now
Russian drones have turned schools into war zones. If we don’t protect the children, who will?
Together, we can help them reclaim their right to learn.

How your support can become a reality

Give children the future they are at risk of losing
For three years, the school bell has been silent. That is how long the children in Polihon, Ukraine, have been unable to go to school. They have no bomb shelter to hide in when bombs fall, and with constant missile and drone attacks, it is far too dangerous for them to be in the area.
That’s why Mission East are building a shelter for 250 children.
But we still lack essential school and safety supplies. The children also need support to heal from the severe trauma of the war so they can start learning and thriving again. With your help, we can provide life-changing support and give the children a chance to rebuild their childhood.

There’s no break from the war
The schoolyard is closed. Many children miss the sense of community and their classmates.
A shelter is not a luxury—it’s a necessity, says one of the children’s teachers. Safety is a condition for learning. A child cannot absorb knowledge when danger is lurking around every corner.
The school should be a place where children not only learn but also feel safe. This can only be possible with a boom shelter for the students.
It’s heartbreaking to hear that young children can name the missiles, bombs, and drones. The war has become all too familiar to them. If we can give the school a small haven from death and destruction, we must do it, with everything we’ve got.

War veterans are building for the children
He survived the front lines in Ukraine—and now he’s building a shelter so the school can once again greet up to 250 children.
Oleksandr is a Ukrainian war veteran. Just five years ago, he could never have imagined that children in his home country would have to grow up without access to a proper school. Today, this is the reality for the children in the town of Polihon.
When Oleksandr had the chance to help the children return to school, he didn’t hesitate. Together with five other war veterans, he is now helping to build the long-awaited shelter.
Soon, up to 250 children will finally be able to return to their classrooms, friends, and teachers.
