All children are in good hands with our two partners in Armenia.
That was the clear impression from Program Manager Fie Trondhjem Østergaard Østergaard and Engagement Officer Liv Krongaard Hansen Krongaard upon their return to Denmark after a two-week visit to our projects in Armenia, including locations in Tavush province, Yerevan, and Vayots Dzor Province.
Our partners are; Bridge of Hope NGO that works with the inclusion of children with disabilities and Syunik Development NGO that works with displaced families from Nagorno-Karabakh.
One of Fie’s aims in visiting was to monitor the various activities of our partners, ensuring the well-being of both the children, their parents and the staff.
“I can confidently say that our work has a significant impact on the children we serve. Despite limited financial resources, the children receive the support they are entitled to, and they develop new skillsets every day. That is in no small part thanks to the hard work and dedication of our partners,” Fie says.
Touching photos on the camera roll
Liv’s focus during her visit was to capture the compelling stories of families. She witnessed touching mother-child relationships, heard heartbreaking refugee narratives, and observed significant verbal and physical development milestones in the children.
“My camera’s SD card is filled with photos of children who have undergone remarkable transformations. I recall one child who had only communicated with animals in the mountains until the age of nine. However, upon entering the doors of Bridge of Hope and exerting a significant effort, he began to develop language skills!” Liv says.
