Are you one of the many generous people who reached for your wallet when you saw the colossal consequences the floods have had in Afghanistan? Then we have just four words to say: Thank you so much!

Your support has truly made a difference. In fact, 3,000 times. That’s the number of Afghans Mission East has been able to assist – thanks to you.

Subrata De, our Country Director in Afghanistan, says:

“With your support, we have raised a significant amount in Danish kroner, allowing us to reach a total of 3,017 people. We have provided financial assistance in areas such as shelter, food supplies, and medical care. There is no doubt that your donations have helped rebuild lives,” he says.

The world turned upside down for Mohammad

One of the many stories that inspire us is from Mohammad Amir, a 70-year-old man from the Tishkan district in Badakhshan. His life took a radical turn when the floods swept through his land, sending chills down his spine. Mohammad’s words of gratitude remind us just how much our mission matters:

“We lost everything we owned; our houses are completely in ruins. Our livestock is gone, and our agricultural land is temporarily destroyed. We have nothing to survive on. But you and IOM have supported us – as the only international NGOs! Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he says.

However, Subrata De emphasizes that Mission East’s work is far from over.

“We are proud of the progress we can already see, but thousands of families still need our support to rebuild their homes and livelihoods, and that takes time. Our focus is now on house reconstruction and long-term recovery,” says De.
