Deadly earthquake strikes Afghanistan
The earthquake struck in the dark of night and tore buildings apart. Children are buried under rubble, while parents desperately search for them.
The extent of the disaster
Over 800 people have died and 2,500 have been injured, while many are still missing. The death toll continues to rise. Mission East is currently on its way with the first emergency aid.
Mission East is on its way
The task of delivering aid is complicated by the fact that the earthquake struck an area that is difficult to access.
However, Mission East has been working in some of the most difficult areas of Afghanistan for almost 25 years. We have therefore immediately begun delivering emergency aid to those affected, initially distributing water containers for water collection, water purification tablets and energy biscuits so that people can get through the first 1-2 days until we and the other organisations present can get a better overview of the situation and what is needed.
Your support saves lives
Support the victims of the earthquake now, because no one should be left under the rubble. Every penny helps.
