While children in Denmark pack their school bags with dreams, and excitement, 8-year-old Salah bends over the dry soil in his family’s garden, searching for something to feed his loved ones. Help make Salah’s dreams of a safe and peaceful childhood come true and lift him out of war’s heavy shadow.
This is how your support can come to life

A Living Nightmare
Salah’s father is named Mohammad. One moment he was fast asleep. The next, a missile tore through his home, and the nightmare began.
The family had stopped wearing pajamas. They never knew when the night would force them to flee and be chased into the darkness. Home was no longer a safe haven – it had become a war zone, where a bomb could fall at any hour of the day or night.
Mohammad never made it out of the house. The missile hit with a deafening blast, and in the next moment, he was buried under the rubble. The explosion tore his life apart and left him paralyzed from the waist.
To help feed his family, Salah must work in the kitchen garden. His father built a low wooden cart—just a board with wheels—that he pushes himself around the garden on, together with his son. With the earth close to his body, he weeds and tends beans, corn, tomatoes, and eggplants alongside Salah, despite the pain and the sun’s relentless heat that hardens the soil.
