Mission East and Neo-Eco Ukraine to ensure green reconstruction

3rd April 2023 - Mission East and Neo-Eco Ukraine have signed a cooperation agreement, marking the beginning of our joint efforts with local authorities to transform rubble from war-damaged buildings into materials for the green reconstruction of rural villages in the Mykolaiv region, which has been heavily damaged by the war.

Neo-Eco Ukraine is highly experienced in creating #circulareconomy solutions infrastructure projects and together, over the next four months, we will map the reconstruction needs and debris material availability and carry out a macro-economic study to assess the waste processing and construction material production capacity of local market actors.

This open-source information will enable coordinated efforts and allow us and others to contribute to strengthening the circular economy in Ukraine, and consequently, to a more affordable, climate-sensitive, and sustainable recovery.

“Mission East is delighted to be working with Neo-Eco Ukraine and fully support its #sustainable, data-driven approach to rebuild the country,” says Betina Gollander-Jensen, Secretary General in Mission East.

“Thanks to our partnership with Mission East, Neo-Eco Ukraine will be able to pursue its innovative damage assessment strategy in Mykolaiv. We hope that this will be the first of many collaborations with this leading Danish philanthropic organization,” says Bart Gruyaert, Project Director at Neo-Eco Ukraine.
