Together 4 Armenia: Strengthening of Diaspora Engagement
Despite numerous attempts by the Government of Armenia, much of the potential of Armenian diaspora and labour migrants’ networks remain untapped. Additionally, many traditional diaspora organizations fail to adjust their established cultural and nationalistic agenda to focus on supporting the development of Armenia. This initiative will allow the representatives of diaspora organizations and migrants’ networks to meaningfully contribute their resources to the development of the targeted regions and communities.
The overall aim of this project is to support the transfer of knowledge and know-how from Armenian Diaspora’s to child-related reforms and local development in the local communities of Lori, Shirak, Tuvush and Gegharkunik regions through the existence of Regional Diaspora Engagement Hubs.
The project involves the implementation and running of the web platform Together4Armenia. Diaspora engagement initiatives are being implemented in practice by transferring skills and knowledge of the community for the well-being of the most vulnerable families and children. Regional Diaspora Engagement Hub staff will be trained on effective methods of identification of expertise needs, diaspora engagement, and web-platform utilization. The project will also focus on expanding the network, partnership and collaboration of Regional Diaspora Engagement Hubs with other NGO’s and diaspora representatives.
