Emergency Reponse Mechanism case studyEvery war creates great suffering for those caught up in the battle-zone, especially the non-combatants and the innocent, and this war is no exemption. The heavy fighting between government forces and armed insurgent groups (AOGs) has severely interrupted the cropping and harvesting cycles, destroyed village homes and agricultural infrastructure, as well as roads and bridges, further cutting off and impoverishing an already isolated population.
Aid to inaccessible corners of the world - Spring 2013
In the Takhar province in Afghanistan, Mission East has constructed 110 km of gravel road, connecting villages in two of the area’s most inaccessible districts, with the province's capital, Taloqan. The villagers used to be hampered by their isolation but now they have gained access to new opportunities.
DIPECHO Projects in Nepal 2013-14
The brochure was devised by DIPECHO partners in Nepal for the launching of the 7th plan of action in South East Asia.Mission East has been among the 4 projects selected among many applications for this DIPECHO round. The launching ceremony was organised on 9th of April and was attended by more than 80 people including his Excellency Mr Spachis, EU ambassador, Mr Rabindra Kuma, Secretary of the Social Welfare Council and chief guest, ECHO representative from Delhi, representatives of the Nepal Risk Reduction Consortium, Ministries, INGO and UN organisation.
